Attending a hearing by video under current J&K rules
Video attendance requires the applicable rules and the court's direction; a participant should not assume that distance alone creates an automatic right to join remotely. J&K has video-conferencing rules and later directions, including the Nyaya Shruti framework for covered proceedings.
What to examine
Confirm the permitted platform, approved location, identity requirements, document handling and whether a coordinator is needed. A witness giving evidence may face different arrangements from a party observing a hearing. Use only an official hearing link or a link provided through the authorised case channel. Do not record, publish or share proceedings without lawful permission.
Records to collect
- Latest hearing order
- video-attendance request and permission
- official joining instructions
- documents required for identification or evidence
Keep complete, dated copies and preserve originals. Note which records are missing and where they may be requested; do not alter a document to fill a gap in the history.
The applicable framework
Court procedure varies with the court, case type and current rules or directions. Use official court and eCourts information to locate records and services, then check the signed order for the obligation in your case. A portal entry, private message or general guide should not replace that order.
A practical next step
Request remote attendance in time and test the permitted setup. Keep a contact plan for a technical failure and follow the court's directions about privacy and participation.
